Hawaiian Hot Stone Therapy

Relax, unwind and be transported to another dimension with a Hawaiian Stone Massage treatment. Your journey begins with warm oil being drizzled onto the body. Next, I take heated volcanic stones, which have been smoothed over thousands of years by gently flowing currents of water. Then, rhythmic Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi techniques allow the stones to release their healing energies deep into the muscles, disolving any tension and stress. A sensory experience to hamonise the body, mind and spirit.

Hot stone massage is great for people who tend to feel cold or have bad circulation. It’s also suited for people who have muscle tension or those who prefer a lighter massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure.

Information: A Truly Unique Experience

Time/Amount: 90 min

Hot stones are typically Basalt, a type volcanic rock that is rich in magnesium and iron. They have an amazing ability to retain heat which is why they are the most common stones used. The stones are immersed in water and heated in an electric heater until they are within a certain temperature range. Cold Marble Stones may also be incorporated in a treatment. This is known as Geothermatherapy. Marble is the ideal stone used as it holds the cold, as well as absorbing heat from the body. Cold Stones are especially beneficial to use in areas with inflammation or swelling, with headaches, muscle tension or spasms and is very detoxifying on the body.

Benefits of Hot Stone Massage

A common question people have is whether to get hot stone massage or a regular massage. Some people find the warmth of the hot stones to be comforting and get this type of massage for relaxation. I also like to incorporate them into a regular massage in certain areas where deeper pressure is required or more remedial work needs to get done, as the heat quickly warms up the tissues and adds another element to the healing process.

Hot stone massage is great for people who need to relax. It’s also suited for people who have tend to feel cold or have bad circulation or muscle tension.  The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure.
